The London law Agency Kennedys appealed to customers with a reminder of the potential risks for operators of business aviation related to the current situation in Ukraine.
“If you are the owner or aircraft operator, you need to keep your finger on the pulse — like ELISA O’sullivan, partner at Kennedys. — Make sure you understand your contractual obligations and know how to react in case of need”.
Lawyers Kennedys outlined two points that deserve special attention. First of all they recommend to review the conditions of the insurance contract and make sure that you stay in Russia and Ukraine does not invalidate the conditions of insurance. Insurance of aircraft, passengers and liability to third parties generally exclude the risks of military action, so the insurance company can individually terminate the contracts of insurance for aircraft based or flying to Russia or to Ukraine. However, at the moment there are no indications that the country will fall into the black list of insurance companies everywhere.
